RUTHLESS
BY KATHERINE MORAN

Ruth Ellis: the last woman to be hanged in the UK.
A woman determined to live on her own terms, in a society that punished her for her honesty and defiance.
Today, when so many women still face violence, stigma, and blame for their own survival, it is even more vital to give Ruth a voice.
Following a sold-out run at the Old Town Hall, Hemel Hempstead, RUTHLESS: A NIGHT WITH RUTH ELLIS is in its next stages of development.
We are forging partnerships with domestic violence charities, seeking to contribute to meaningful change for women today, as well as justice for Ruth.
Ruthless: A Night With Ruth Ellis is not an attempt to excuse Ruth’s actions, but to understand them.
The audience is invited to experience Ruth’s world - her dreams, tenacity, and flaws - in real time. It’s a reflection on how far we’ve come and a reminder of the systems that still fail women today.
